Here at our house, I’ve been putting a lot of focus on the alphabet and letter recognition lately with my preschooler. While he still loves doing his Interactive Notebook that I shared in this post, I’ve been trying to change things up a bit so things stay fresh and fun for him. I’ve come up with a bunch of different alphabet activities that we pull out a few times a week, which he’s been really enjoying.

One game that he’s been really loving lately is Alphabet Bingo. We’ve been playing it almost daily. It’s such an easy game and it takes minimal time to both setup and play. My 5 year old has been loving it too. I’ve come up with 3 different ways to play, depending on skill level, so it has been great for her development as well.

In fact, we’ve been loving it so much that we want you to have it too!  If you’d like to grab your free Alphabet Bingo printable, please download it below.

Supplies Needed:

  • Cardstock
  • Laminator and laminating sheets (optional)
  • Manipulatives!

Setup:

  • Print off sheets on cardstock for durability
  • Cut out game boards and letter tiles
  • Laminate boards and tiles for extra durability

How To Play Alphabet Bingo:

Beginner

Have each child choose a game board. Place letter tiles facedown. Flip over letter tiles one at a time so that your child can see. Have your child place a manipulative on the matching letter. This way of playing can be done solo.

Intermediate

Place letter tiles facedown. Choose letter tiles one at a time but do not show your child. Call out the letter and have your child place a manipulative on the matching letter by just hearing the letter name.

Advanced

Place letter tiles facedown. Choose letter tiles one at a time but do not show your child. Call out the letter sound and have your child place a manipulative on the matching letter by just hearing the sound of the letter.

This looks like a lot of fun! My kids are now past the alphabet stage, but I imagine this idea could be used with just about anything you want them to learn. Pinned!
